Employee Spotlight: Chrissy Eichhorn, RBT

1. Where do you call home?

I’m currently living on a quiet lake in Salem, New Hampshire. I was born, raised, and have spent most of my life in NH, but often dream of moving somewhere warmer – I’m not a fan of the snow.

2. How many years have you worked in the ABA field?

When I started my career, I had just graduated with a Fine Arts degree and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. Then, I found an online job post for an ABA Therapist position and figured I’d give it a try.

It’s now been 3 years since I took that ABA Therapist job and I’m happy I did. I got my start at an ABA Clinic in Nashua and quickly became a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). After learning about Applied ABC and its mission, I made the transition and have been here since!

3. How did you end up working for Applied ABC?

I first heard about Applied ABC while working at a Nashua-based ABA clinic – a friend of mine already worked for the company and suggested I put in an application. I got my start working with home-based clients, then moved onto in-school and in-center work shortly after.

4. What’s the most fulfilling part of your work?

The most fulfilling part of my work is seeing the amazing progress my clients make; It can be anywhere from small moments of eye contact to speaking their first words. I really love working with kids and watching them learn, grow, and excel. Being able to make a real difference in the life of a child, and for their families, is incredibly rewarding.

5. How do you unwind after a long day?

I mostly unwind by spending time with friends, going out for dinner, and watching horror movies or shows. I’m a big fan of newer horror films, like Annabelle and The Conjuring series.

I also spend a lot of free time painting in acrylics and pastels. Typically, I paint landscapes and florals, but sometimes I take on commission work to paint pet portraits. Even though my career has carried me into the field ABA therapy, I’ve never lost my interest or passion for creating art.

6. What are some interesting facts about you?

I currently hold a Fine Arts degree and am working toward a Psychology degree at NECC to help advance my career in the mental health field. I’m planning to become a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or art therapist after I graduate and hope to continue helping children with autism learn and grow.
