Where do you call home?

I live in Northern Virginia. I have lived in Virginia all my life. Most of my family lives here. It’s a great place to raise a family and is literally 20 minutes away from the nation’s capital!

How many years have you worked in the ABA field?

I have worked in the ABA field in the public school system for ten years. My career started years ago when I worked with a wide range of ages, from small kids to adults. After years of educating children of all ages, I decided to follow my passion and work with children with special needs. This included children with limited means and unfortunate circumstances. I was determined to be a role model in all aspects of life for the youth. I love working with children and their families and making a difference in their lives; it’s very fulfilling!

How did you end up working for Applied ABC?

I was looking for a career change, a new challenge, and a new purpose in my life. I was driven to help the youth and to have a meaningful purpose to change children and their families. I consider myself a role model, friend, and teacher. Being a lifelong student, learning new things and collecting wisdom from my elders are an important part of my everyday life.

What’s the most fulfilling part of your work?

I find that the most fulfilling part of my work is seeing progress in a child’s behavior and social interaction with others. I have always enjoyed feedback from the families, and I like to keep an open dialogue. I believe attitude and communication play a big role in being a successful RBT. Transparency with families and being open to new ideas often leads to success. Honesty and integrity have been an important aspect of my job and my interactions with children and their families.

How do you unwind after a long day?

I like to work out, spend time in nature, or read a book. I am a big family guy, so anytime I can spend time with my son is my favorite pastime.

What are some interesting facts about you?

I am a collector, and most recently, I have been collecting coins. Researching and learning about the origin and worth of the coins is something that intrigues me.
